Year 5/6 Class Information
PE
We will be undertaking at least two sessions of P.E. each week. At present these will be on Monday and Wednesday afternoon. Children should bring their P.E. kits in on a Monday and not take them home until Friday as we may complete P.E. at others times, weather depending. The kit only needs to be taken home sooner if a session was outdoors and the kit needs washing.
Homework
Children will receive homework challenges related to their current topic. On top of this Literacy and Mathematics homework may be issued each week on a Thursday and should be returned the following Tuesday.
On Monday, children will be tested on their Times Tables; weekly spellings checked on Friday.
Reading Books
It would be great if you could read regularly with your child. We are still using home Reading Record books and would be grateful if you would regularly sign to show you have experienced your child reading at home. We are also monitoring reading through the Accelerated Reading Programme. If you have any comments or concerns regarding reading at home please write them in the back of the homework book.
Spring term 2 2020: Please be aware, we are looking at World War 2 and the impact it had on children.
Long Term Plans are available for you to view or download and can be found in Curriculum section, under Curriculum Intent & Plans.
