Dawn till Dusk – Breakfast & After School Club

Dawn till Dusk are currently arranging staffing for the Autumn term for its Breakfast (7.30am until 8.45am) and After School Clubs (3.00pm until 6.00pm).

Breakfast Club
The children can enjoy a healthy nutritious breakfast to start their day which may include toast, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, egg-boiled or scrambled, yoghurts or bacon sandwiches. Fresh fruit juice is available as well as fresh milk and water. Children are freely able to access the resources on offer and can play as they wish. Those children who start school leave to go to their classroom at around 8.50am. Any information that parents/carers have passed on to us will be given to your child’s teacher during this time.
Afterschool Club
Afterschool care is available from 3pm until 6pm; with block sessions available to incorporate parents working times and clubs already on offer within the school. Children are registered right away at 3pm, a light snack is prepared for the children around 3.15pm. Snack changes from week to week and can be a selection of sandwiches, toasties, soup, cheese and crackers, toasted muffins, pizza, garlic bread, vegetable sticks and dips alongside a selection of fresh fruit. Water is always available. Children have free access to the activities and resources on offer, planning is in place however can change to incorporate the children’s interests. Some activities may include craft activities, model making, baking, drama, team games, board games, jigsaws and also use our Wii and ipads. We also have free access to our secure outdoor area as well as the school hall, playground and sensory garden.
School Meal Cost – 6th September 2017 to 20th October 2017

Please note that school meals will continue to cost £2.00 per day, £10.00 per week for the next academic year. School dinner money is due at the school office on Monday mornings.
If you wish to pay your school dinner money for the half term (6th September 2017 to 20th October 2017) this will cost £66.00. If you wish to pay your school dinner money for the whole academic year (6th September 2017 to 20th July 2018) this will cost £384.00. Please note these amounts do not take into account any visits the children may have arranged.
Please be reminded that if you wish to change from school meals onto packed lunches this can be accommodated at the end of each half term, this is due to the administrative time it takes to change menus and the associated changes in purchasing food provisions.

Sports Evening – Monday 10th July 2017 – CANCELLED

Unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions, our Sports Evening scheduled to take place this evening has been cancelled. Please note the Sports Evening has been rearranged for Monday 17th July 2017 from 5.00pm till 7.30pm on the school playing field.
School Dinners/Packed Lunches
Could parents wishing to change from packed lunches onto school dinners or vice-versa (from September 2017), please let Alison know in the school office by Friday 7th July 2017. This is to ensure all administration is correct and in order and that the kitchen have accurate school meal uptake data well before the summer break. This will ensure that correct quantities of food can be ordered.

30 Hours Early Education for Working Parents of 3 and 4 Year Olds
From September 2017, working parents of 3 and 4 year olds will be able to access 30 hours of free childcare per week depending on their circumstances. More details on eligibility can be found at:-

As a school, we would like to try and ascertain the level of interest that there may be for provision at our school. I would be very grateful if any parent of a 2 or 3 year old could answer the following questions on the attached letter and return to the School Office. If you know of any other parents who may be interest in sending their child to Middleton-in-Teesdale Nursery, please direct them to the school website News section or collect another form from the office.
Head Lice
We have been informed that there are head lice in school. In order to stop further spread of head lice, please could you check your child’s hair and treat if necessary. Please remember that treatments are free from Middleton-in-Teesdale Chemist under the ‘Minor Ailment Scheme’. Please ask the chemist for further details. We trust your cooperation with this matter.
