Children Returning to School in September
We hope that you are all keeping safe and well and are enjoying the summer holidays.
We are looking forward to welcoming all our children back to school on Wednesday 2nd September. We know that some of you may be concerned about your child returning/starting school. We appreciate your worries and doubts, but we hope that you will be reassured by knowing that we have put in place safety measures in school.
We are also aware that many of you have contacted the school with queries regarding your child’s return to school, we have tried to answer all the queries raised, please see below.
School Uniform & PE Kits
Our usual school uniform rules will apply from September. The Government is clear that uniforms do not need to be cleaned any more often than usual, nor do they need to be cleaned using methods which are different from normal. On the days your child has PE, they should come dressed for this to avoid the need for changing clothes in school. This includes tracksuits/jogging bottoms for when the weather turns colder (preferably in navy, black or grey). You will be informed of the PE days at the beginning of term.
The school kitchen will be fully open from the start of the school term with meals provided for all who require them. For children who bring packed lunches, please ensure your child’s packed lunch is clearly labelled and is in a washable container that can be taken home and washed everyday.
Children do not need to wear a mask to school. In addition, no hand sanitiser is to be brought to school, hand sanitiser will be provided.
What your child is allowed to bring
Coat for cooler weather
Packed lunch (if applicable) in a washable container to be taken home and washed every day
Sun hat during hot weather. Long lasting sun cream should be applied at home before school
Please do not send your child in to school with anything else. We will provide the necessary stationery, this will remain in school. Please do not send your child to school with water bottles, there are water fountains with disposable cups located throughout the school. Reading books can be changed on a Friday and kept in school over the weekend to enable a 72 hour quarantine or if changed during the week, books will be placed into a quarantine box.
